Our  History

Jansen Cable Construction, Inc. (JCCI) was founded in 1990 by Joe Jansen. What was started as five men with shovels and a trencher has quickly grown into a full service construction company providing communication companies solutions focused on outside plant facility design and deployment.

Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD)

Since the purchase of its first directional boring machine in 1991, JCCI has been on the leading edge of the growing movement to develop Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) as a viable and cost-effective way of installing buried cables and conduits.

A solid business plan and quality worksmanship allowed expansion and growth over the years, resulting in retention of experienced craftsman and an ability to invest heavily in new equipment.

In 1996 JCCI purchased its second directional drill and grew to 11 full-time employees. This growth continued and by 1999 there were 28 full time employees augmented by multiple exclusive sub-contractors implementing services that included routine and capital projects for local and long distance telecom and cable television providers.
From buried service drops to long haul fiber optic projects, aerial construction to large pair count cable transfers, JCCI has become a leading communications contractor in the Missouri, Illinois and Indiana markets.
However, the quick decline in demand for construction services in the communications industry beginning in 2001 brought new challenges to the company. JCCI succeeded by having a diverse customer base and by continually providing these customers with the best value and service.

Fiber optics & growing service

The addition of a new subsidiary in 2004, Precision Fiber Splicing, further rounded out the services provided to meet the demands of the broadband focused industry. The development of a splicing division now gives JCCI the capability to offer full implementation of all fiber optic builds.

To further meet the demands in the rapidly changing industry racing to deploy 'triple play' and FTTx networks, JCCI is able to now offer design services allowing for turn-key support of any outside plant project. From design to installation, placement to splicing, testing to final records, JCCI has a winning team ready to successfully implement your project.

Those services will adjust to industry demands but will remain focused on construction and maintenance of communication networks. It is of critical importance that job and career satisfaction be enjoyed by every member of the JCCI team. To do something that matters. We are excited to provide the best service we can. Refocus and deliver. Conviction. We will do this.
